Runner's & Triathlete's Web !---- Page Headline ---- Athletics: Elisabeth Hasselbeck to Host More/Fitness Half Marathon in Central Park on April 3rd
The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck will host the eighth-annual More Magazine | Fitness Magazine Women's Half-Marathon in Central Park on April 3rd. More and Fitness magazines in partnership with New York Road Runners and Hasselbeck, will welcome 10,000 runners and spectators of all ages from around the world for the biggest women's-only half marathon in the country. Hasselbeck will also be running to raise money for Celiac Disease research.
Hasselbeck will be joined by U.S. Surgeon General, Vice Admiral Dr. Regina Benjamin, who will also be walking the race, More Magazine Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour, Fitness Magazine Editor-in-Chief Betty Wong (who will also be running) and thousands of women to mark a personal achievement and to celebrate each other. Notable runners include NBC's The Biggest Loser previous contestants, Cherita Andrews (Season 9), Nicole Brewer (Season 7), and Tara Costas (Season 7).
The event is hosted by Lady Speed Stick and Athleta as presenting sponsors with product sponsors Duane Reade, Oakley, Silk Soymilk, Skechers, Thomas' Bagel Thins and Tonalin. Race participants have raised nearly $9,000 for charitable partner, Hole in the Wall Gang, a nonprofit, summer camp and year-round center serving children and their families coping with cancer.

On race day, supporters and spectators are welcome to come cheer on the runners and also visit the Sponsor Pavilion to enjoy live music, complimentary samples, sweepstakes and mini massages. Note: Due to overwhelming enthusiasm for the event, the race has reached its capacity and is not accepting any additional registrants.
